Roulette is a popular game that has many different types of bets. These bets can be divided into two categories: inside and outside bets. Inside bets are placed on individual numbers while outside bets are placed on groups of numbers.
When playing roulette, be sure to choose a table within your budget. Each roulette table carries a placard that describes the minimum and maximum betting amounts.
Origins
Despite being a very old game, the exact origins of roullete are not clear. Some historians believe that the game was invented by a French mathematician called Blaise Pascal as part of his attempts to produce a perpetual motion machine. Others believe that the game was created by French Dominican monks who used it as entertainment inside their monasteries.
Other historians suggest that the game evolved from a similar Italian board game called Biribi or Hoca. The history of roulette as we know it in its modern form began in 1796, when the game appeared in Paris.
As gambling became more widespread in Europe, the game made its way to America. In 1843, Francois and Louis Blanc introduced the single 0 style of wheel that we use today.
