Exciting times here at the Mayarya HQ - our founder Reika just announced that she is expecting her third child!!
Of course we had to ask: What are her top picks for the 1st Trimester (and how could she possibly hide her pregnancy from us all this time)?
The first trimester is exciting and anxiety inducing! It can also be the hardest stage of any pregnant woman (it was certainly for me!) having to go through morning sickness, migraine, fatigue and breast soreness. And you can’t announce it to your colleagues/boss or friends/family yet so no-one knows why you are taking sick leave or cancelling dinner plans :(
My advice - ditch anything that feels tight or restrictive, and instead invest in smart pieces to see you through pregnancy and beyond:
1. Stylish, comfortable dresses that look great….even when you don’t feel it!
Choose dresses that are made of soft and lightweight fabric so they are gentle on your sensitive skin. Maternity and nursing dresses with an A-line silhouette such as the Toledo dress can hide your first trimester bump and make you look professional at work. This mini dress is perfect to wear as a tunic with leggings and boots, too.
2. Good quality maternity & nursing bras
This is also the time to buy some good quality maternity and nursing bras. As your breasts will grow during pregnancy – potentially up to three cup sizes – it's important to swap out your regular bras with maternity and nursing bras that offer plenty of support and comfort. It will make a huge difference to your shape, posture and mood! Our Easyfit Sleep Maternity and Nursing Bra is feather-light and whisper-soft, so you’ll hardly know that you are wearing anything at all.
3. Super comfortable maternity essentials
Make sure to have plenty of healthy snacks at hand to keep your energy up and nausea at bay!
Thank you and congratulations, Reika!
We provide support where it's needed!
Not sure which belly support band to wear for each trimester? We offer a range of belly support wear designed to relieve back and hip pain as your bump grows.
How time flies! Our founder Reika is already past her 24th week and baby is the size of a cantaloupe.
We asked her to give us a roundup of her favourite maternity clothes to wear during the second trimester
